Commonly known as Ice Plant, on the island of Maui it is called, Akuli, Kuli. Spring and summer are the seasons that it shows off its bright color and when blooming in a large area, you feel like you need your sunglasses on. Akuli Kuli comes in many colors, it is in the succulent family and needs little water.

I have always had a thing for color, in my youth it was crayons, chalk and finger paints. My teachers in school would never let me sit by the windows in class, which had views of pastures with cows, birds and flowers, so I'm guessing it was because I was to busy looking at the world of color out those windows, instead of listening. At a young age I was given cameras for gifts, so I clicked lots of photos, which I still have today, many are mostly of family, friends and animals. I bought my first camera in my early 20's, a Konica view finder 35mm, loved that camera, then I graduated to a Yashica with all the different lenses.
